New Mexico High School Basketball - Cibola holds off Rio Rancho
February 16, 2024: Albuquerque, NM 87114 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Rio Rancho Rams (Rio Rancho, NM), saw Cibola's basketball squad hold off Rio Rancho by a tally of 115-113.
With the victory, Cibola improves its record to 3-22 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM) to confront the Storm in a 5A District 1 challenge on Wednesday, February 21. The Storm come into the challenge with a record of 12-12. Cleveland won 53-50 in their recent league challenge against Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM)
Next up, the Rams confront the Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 1 challenge, on Wednesday, February 21. Rio Rancho will attempt to improve on its 16-8 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 18-5 record after their 67-21 league win over Cibola (Albuquerque, NM).
