In Friday's league match, the host Midland Trail Patriots basketball team scored a tight 43-40 triumph over the Hoover Huskies.

In their next game, the Patriots meet the Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV) in a non-league match, on Saturday, February 3. Midland Trail will attempt to better on its 11-2 season record. The Bobcats enter the match with a 7-6 record after their 102-41 non-league win over Meadow Bridge (Meadow Bridge, WV).

With the defeat, Hoover moves to 9-6 on the year. The Huskies host Wayne (Wayne, WV) to meet the Pioneers in a Cardinal match on Tuesday, February 6. The Pioneers enter the match with a record of 4-10.
