Wisconsin High School Basketball - Washburn overwhelms South Shore
February 2, 2024: Port Wing, WI 54865 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Washburn Castle Guards (Washburn, WI) and the host South Shore Cardinals (Port Wing, WI), saw Washburn's basketball squad wallop South Shore by a count of 71-40.
With the victory, Washburn upgrades its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Castle Guards travel to Bayfield (Bayfield, WI) to play the Trollers in a Northern Lights challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Trollers come into the challenge with a record of 6-9. Bayfield won 85-52 in their recent league challenge against Lac Courte Oreilles (Hayward, WI)
Next up, the Cardinals play the Spooner Rails (Spooner, WI) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 5. South Shore will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Rails come into the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 58-51 league win over St. Croix Falls (St. Croix Falls, WI).
