Oklahoma High School Basketball - Velma-Alma nudges Wilson
February 2, 2024: Wilson, OK 73463 Velma-Alma Comets (Velma, OK) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Wilson Eagles (Wilson, OK), 41-35 in a league bout.
With the win, Velma-Alma upgrades its record to 19-3 on the season. The Comets travel to Walters (Walters, OK) to clash with the Blue Devils in a Oilfield bout on Monday, February 5. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 14-6. Walters won 68-60 in their recent league bout against Central (Marlow, OK)
Next up, the Eagles clash with the Empire Bulldogs (Duncan, OK) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Wilson will attempt to upgrade on its 17-5 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 9-12 record after their 56-50 non-league loss to Elmore City-Pernell (Elmore City, OK).
