North Carolina High School Basketball - North Surry holds off Forbush
February 2, 2024: Mount Airy, NC 27030 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the North Surry Greyhounds (Mount Airy, NC) and the visiting Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC), saw North Surry's basketball squad hold off Forbush by a tally of 48-45.
With the victory, North Surry improves its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC) to confront the Blackhawks in a 2A Foothills challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Blackhawks come into the challenge with a record of 10-9. West Wilkes lost 55-45 in their recent league challenge against North Wilkes (Hays, NC)
Next up, the Falcons confront the Surry Central Golden Eagles (Dobson, NC) in a 2A Foothills challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Forbush will attempt to improve on its 15-5 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 12-6 record after their 43-37 non-league win over Elkin (Elkin, NC).
