North Carolina High School Basketball - South Caldwell knocked off by Alexander Central
February 3, 2023: Taylorsville, NC 28681 The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team scored 60 points and held the visiting South Caldwell Spartans to 46 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.
The Cougars now sport a 15-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hibriten for a 3A/4A Conference 52 contest on Tuesday, February 7. Alexander Central will meet a Panthers team coming off a 62-51 league win over Watauga (Boone, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 9-13.
The Spartans (10-12) will now prepare for their contest against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies enter the 3A/4A Conference 52 contest with a 8-14 record. In their last contest, Ashe County was outscored by Freedom (Morganton, NC), 76-62, in a league contest.
