The Shelby Golden Lions basketball team scored 45 points and held the visiting East Gaston Warriors to 36 in the Golden Lions non-league triumph on Friday.

The Golden Lions now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Thomas Jefferson for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 7. Shelby will battle a Gryphons team coming off a 58-50 non-league win over Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC). The Gryphons record now stands at 17-1.

The Warriors (3-13) will now prepare for their contest against Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 10-5 record. In their last contest, Burns ran past Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC), 71-33, in a non-league contest.
