The St. Mary's Cardinals basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars to 41 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cardinals now sport a 17-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Boyd County for a non-league contest on Tuesday, February 7. St. Mary's will battle a Spartans team coming off a 44-31 non-league win over Stuart (Stuart, NE). The Spartans record now stands at 10-7.
