Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots (Mayville, ND) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Thompson Tommies (Thompson, ND), 72-68 in a league bout.

With the win, Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Patriots travel to Cavalier (Cavalier, ND) to clash with the Tornadoes in a B Region 2 bout on Thursday, February 9. The Tornadoes go into the bout with a record of 5-10. Cavalier lost 73-52 in their recent non-league bout against St. John (St. John, ND)

Next up, the Tommies clash with the Midway/Minto Mustangs (Inkster, ND) in a B Region 2 bout, on Friday, February 10. Thompson will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 78-40 league win over Drayton/Valley-Edinburg (Drayton, ND).
