North Carolina High School Basketball - East Gaston holds off Burns

February 7, 2023: Lawndale, NC 28090

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) and the host Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC), saw East Gaston's basketball squad hold off Burns by a tally of 56-55.

With the victory, East Gaston improves its record to 19-2 on the campaign. The Warriors host Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC) to confront the Rams in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge on Friday, February 10. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 5-17. Highland Tech lost 84-53 in their recent league challenge against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC)

Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge, on Friday, February 10. Burns will attempt to improve on its 11-10 season record. The Golden Lions come into the challenge with a 15-6 record after their 69-33 league win over Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC).
