In Friday's league contest, the visiting McDowell Titans basketball team scored a big 65-35 triumph over the Asheville Cougars.

The Titans (22-0) will now prepare for their contest against Erwin (Asheville, NC). The Warriors go into the 3A/4A Mountain contest with a 17-5 record. In their last contest, Erwin smashed T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC), 53-39, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars confront the North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) in a 3A/4A Mountain contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Asheville will attempt to better on its 11-11 season record. The Black Hawks go into the contest with a 15-7 record after their 65-31 league win over Enka (Enka, NC).
