Kentucky High School Basketball - Southwestern tops Russell County
February 8, 2022: Somerset, KY 42503 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY) and the visiting Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY), saw Southwestern's basketball squad knock off Russell County by a count of 63-50.
With the victory, Southwestern upgrades its record to 10-18 on the campaign. The Warriors host Pulaski County (Somerset, KY) to play the Maroons in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 11. The Maroons come into the challenge with a record of 23-1. Pulaski County lost 82-54 in their recent non-league challenge against North Laurel (London, KY)
Next up, the Lakers play the Adair County Indians (Columbia, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 11. Russell County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-19 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 15-8 record after their 71-48 non-league win over Marion County (Lebanon, KY).
