Virginia High School Basketball - Galax can't hold off Grayson County

February 9, 2022: Independence, VA 24348

The Grayson County Blue Devils basketball team scored 30 points and restricted the visiting Galax Maroon Tide to 23 in the Blue Devils league victory on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils now sport a 5-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fort Chiswell for a Mountain Empire contest on Thursday, February 10. Grayson County will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 66-36 league loss to Auburn (Riner, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 10-11.

The Maroon Tide (6-10) will now prepare for their contest against Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Bears come into the Mountain Empire contest with a 9-10 record. In their last contest, Bland County edged Wythe (Wytheville, VA), 52-48, in a league contest.
