New Mexico High School Basketball - Farmington over Sandia

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Farmington Scorpions (Farmington, NM) and the host Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), saw Farmington's basketball squad overcome Sandia by a tally of 66-55.

With the victory, Farmington improves its record to 18-4 on the campaign. The Scorpions travel to West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM) to confront the Mustangs in a 5A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, February 13. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 14-7. West Mesa lost 71-63 in their recent league challenge against La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Matadors confront the Eldorado Golden Eagles (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 2 challenge, on Wednesday, February 14. Sandia will attempt to improve on its 13-9 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 12-10 record after their 70-29 league win over Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM).
