The La Cueva Bears basketball team (Albuquerque, NM), dropped 81-68 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM)

The Matadors now possess a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Piedra Vista for a 5A District 2 battle on Friday, February 2. Sandia will confront a Panthers team coming off a 75-39 league loss to West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 5-14.

The Bears (12-7) will now prepare for their battle against Farmington (Farmington, NM). The Scorpions come into the 5A District 2 battle with a 16-3 record. In their last battle, Farmington dropped by Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM), 80-77, in a league battle.
