The crowd at Saturday's non-league battle between the Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) and the visiting New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC), saw Croatan's baseball team get by New Bern by a tally of 12-11.

The Cougars (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC). The Cardinals enter the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Jacksonville held off West Craven (Vanceboro, NC), 9-1, in a non-league battle.
