The Mount Vernon Tigers (Mount Vernon, TX) softball nipped the host Commerce Tigers (Commerce, TX), 5-4 in Tuesday's league outing.

The Tigers now sport a 11-6 record. They take the field next when they host Chisum for a 3A Region II District 12 test on Thursday, March 12. Mount Vernon will meet a Mustangs squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Winnsboro (Winnsboro, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-9.

The Tigers (6-9) will now prepare for their test against Rains (Emory, TX). The Wildcats go into the 3A Region II District 12 test with a 5-4 record. In their last test, Rains held off Chapel Hill (Mount Pleasant, TX), 18-1, in a non-league test.
