The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles nipped the visiting Payson Lions softball team by a margin of 7-6 in Thursday's league battle.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 6-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pleasant Grove for a 5A Region 7 battle on Tuesday, March 17. Maple Mountain will encounter a Vikings team coming off a 16-2 non-league loss to Bonneville (Idaho Falls, ID). The Vikings record now stands at 1-4.

With the loss, Payson moves to 4-3 on the season. The Lions host Wasatch (Heber City, UT) to encounter the Wasps in a 5A Region 7 battle on Tuesday, March 17. The Wasps come into the battle with a record of 7-5. Wasatch won 14-10 in their recent non-league battle against Emery (Castle Dale, UT)
