North Carolina High School Softball - Alexander Central bounces Ashe County
March 22, 2022: West Jefferson, NC 28694 Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC), 18-2 in a league challenge.
The Cougars now own a 10-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Watauga for a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 25. Alexander Central will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 17-0 non-league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 1-9.
With the loss, Ashe County falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to face the Panthers in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 25. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 5-2. Hibriten won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC)
