The Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) softball routed the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), 12-2 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Huskies (5-13) will now prepare for their bout against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars go into the non-league bout with a 20-2 record. In their last bout, Alexander Central notched a victory over Freedom (Morganton, NC), 15-0, in a league bout.
