The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Vanguard Knights (Ocala, FL) and the host Merritt Island Mustangs (Merritt Island, FL), observed Vanguard's softball team get by Merritt Island by a tally of 7-1.

The Knights (6-6) will now prepare for their bout against Fort Myers (Fort Myers, FL). The Green Wave go into the non-league bout with a 9-4 record. In their last bout, Fort Myers tipped Port Charlotte (Port Charlotte, FL), 14-0, in a non-league bout.
