Spectators at Friday's non-league battle between the South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) and the host East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC), saw South Mecklenburg's baseball squad knock off East Mecklenburg by a count of 9-2.

Coming up next, the Sabres play the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, March 8. South Mecklenburg will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Mavericks enter the battle with a 2-0 record after their 9-8 non-league win over Carson (China Grove, NC).
