In Monday's league bout, the Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) baseball squad the visiting Westside Renegades (Clear Fork, WV), by a tally of 7-5.

Next up, the Miners encounter the Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, April 14. Mingo Central will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Hornets enter the bout with a 6-7 record after their 10-8 non-league loss to East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY).

The Renegades (2-7) will now prepare for their bout against Independence (Coal City, WV). The Patriots go into the Coalfield AA test with a 7-3 record. In their last test, Independence nipped Logan (Logan, WV), 4-2, in a league test.
