Ohio High School Volleyball - Northview over Swanton
April 23, 2025: Swanton, OH 43558 Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH) and the host Swanton Bulldogs (Swanton, OH), observed Northview's volleyball team top Swanton by a count of 3-1.
The Wildcats (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Springfield (Holland, OH). The Blue Devils enter the non-league contest with a 11-1 record. In their last contest, Springfield notched a victory over Perrysburg (Perrysburg, OH), 3-1, in a league contest.
Next, the Bulldogs battle the Start Spartans (Toledo, OH) in a contest, on Monday, April 28. Swanton will attempt to move on its 3-7 season record. The Spartans enter the contest with a 7-9 record after their 3-1 league loss to Northview (Sylvania, OH).
Match Summary
SWANTON - Northview rode into Swanton on a three match winning streak and, from the start of this match, it appeared that they would continue their recent dominance as they improve to 6-8 overall winning their fourth straight. The Cats were victorious in four sets over the Bulldogs.
Leading for the Cats was junior outsider hitters, Xavier Hale with 13 kills, hitting .244; and Anthony Pedro with 8 kills, hitting .286. Northview senior setter, Dillon Ersig, dished out 25 assists, 13 digs and 6 kills, hitting .400 while adding 3 blocks on the day and junior middle blocker, Nolan Smith, added 5 kills and 3 blocks. Freshman, Cooper Smith recorded a team-high 5 blocks and senior libero, Johnny Krolak, led at all defensive players with team-high digs (14) and aces (5).
The Cats return to Northview on Thursday, April 24th as they host Springfield.
