Ohio High School Volleyball - Springfield over Northview
April 24, 2025: Sylvania, OH 43560 In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Springfield Blue Devils volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Northview Wildcats.
The Blue Devils (12-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Steele (Amherst, OH). The Comets enter the non-league challenge with a 9-8 record. In their last challenge, Steele beat Avon (Avon, OH), 3-1, in a league challenge.
Next, the Wildcats meet the Start Spartans (Toledo, OH) in a challenge, on Saturday, April 26. Northview will attempt to upgrade on its 6-9 season record. The Spartans enter the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Adrian (Adrian, MI).
Match Summary
SYLVANIA - The match-up of Springfield and Northview was a highly anticipated match, one that had all of the working to be a classic and it was. Springfield was able to defeat the Cats in straight sets, even though it was some fantastic volleyball.
Leading for Northview junior outside hitter, Xavier Hale; and junior middle blocker, Nolan Smith, both with 9 kills for the Cats. Junior opposite, Connor Pieja and junior outside, Anthony Pedro, each had 4 kills as well. Senior setter, Dillon Ersig dished out 28 assists and 10 digs, while senior libero, Johnny Krolak provided a team high 12 digs.
