Wyoming High School Softball - Central bounces East
April 26, 2023: Cheyenne, WY 82001 Central Indians (Cheyenne, WY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host East Thunderbirds (Cheyenne, WY), 13-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Indians now own a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they host Wheatland for a 4A East challenge on Tuesday, May 2.
With the loss, East falls to 12-5 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds travel to Laramie (Laramie, WY) to face the Plainsmen in a 4A East challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Plainsmen enter the challenge with a record of 2-0.
Game Summary
East Thunderbirds Varsity Girls Softball watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-2 loss to Central Indians Varsity on Wednesday. Central scored on a walk by Bailey Martinez, a single by Porcha Kammerman, and a double by Shiloh Rohde in the first inning.
East struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Central Indians Varsity, giving up 13 runs. Central opened up scoring in the first inning. Martinez drew a walk, scoring one run. Lillian Vallejo took the loss for East. Vallejo went one-third of an inning, allowing six runs on two hits and striking out one.
Mariah Bledsoe, Aleah Brooks, and Emily Schlagel all had one hit to lead East.
