Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains (Bascom, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting New Riegel Blue Jackets (New Riegel, OH), 4-1 in a league challenge.

The Chieftains now own a 14-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gibsonburg for a Sandusky Bay - River challenge on Monday, May 2.

With the loss, New Riegel falls to 14-7 on the campaign. The Blue jackets travel to Old Fort (Old Fort, OH) to battle the Stockaders in a Sandusky Bay - River challenge on Wednesday, May 4. The Stockaders enter the challenge with a record of 2-5.
