In Friday's league match, the visiting Calvert Senecas softball team scored a tight 9-3 win over the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains.

The Senecas (4-1) will now prepare for their match against St. Mary Central Catholic (Sandusky, OH). The Panthers come into the Sandusky Bay - River match with a 0-5 record. In their last match, St. Mary Central Catholic was routed by St. Joseph Central Catholic (Fremont, OH), 13-3, in a league match.

In their next game, the Chieftains confront the Margaretta Polar Bears (Castalia, OH) in a non-league match, on Saturday, April 5. Hopewell-Loudon will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record.
