Maine High School Softball - Madawaska holds off Washburn
May 15, 2024: Madawaska, ME 04756 Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Madawaska Owls (Madawaska, ME) and the visiting Washburn Beavers (Washburn, ME), witnessed Madawaska's softball squad tip Washburn by a count of 24-22.
The Owls now sport a 1-7 record. They play next when they travel to Hodgdon for a Class D North match on Friday, May 17. Madawaska will meet a Hawks squad coming off a 6-2 league win over Ashland (Ashland, ME). The Hawks record now stands at 5-2.
With the loss, Washburn moves to 0-5 on the season. The Beavers travel to Katahdin (Sherman Station, ME) to meet the Cougars in a non-league match on Monday, May 20. The Cougars go into the match with a record of 8-0. Katahdin won 15-0 in their recent league match against Fort Fairfield (Fort Fairfield, ME)
