New York High School Softball - Maspeth loses to Newtown
May 3, 2024: Elmhurst, NY 11373 The Newtown Pioneers softball team scored 29 runs and limited the visiting Maspeth to 3 in the Pioneers non-league triumph on Friday.
With the triumph, Newtown moves its record to 5-3 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Bowne (Flushing, NY) to clash with the Wildcats in a PSAL Queens A game on Wednesday, May 8. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 4-6. Bowne won 14-2 in their recent league game against Bryant (Queens, NY)
Next up, the meet the Academy of American Studies Eagles (Queens, NY) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, May 7. Maspeth will attempt to better on its 4-5 season record. The Eagles go into the battle with a 7-1 record after their 29-0 non-league win over John Adams (Ozone Park, NY).
