The Reed-Custer Comets softball squad (Braidwood, IL), was routed 13-4 in Tuesday's league contest with the visiting Coal City Coalers (Coal City, IL)

With the triumph, Coal City improves its record to 17-7 on the year. The Coalers host Newark (Newark, IL) to face the Norsemen in a non-league contest on Thursday, May 8. The Norsemen enter the contest with a record of 11-14. Newark won 8-6 in their recent non-league contest against St. Bede (Peru, IL)

The Comets now hold a 9-13 record. They play next when they travel to Morris for a non-league contest on Thursday, May 8. Reed-Custer will face a Redskins squad coming off a 14-0 league win over Rochelle (Rochelle, IL). The Redskins record now stands at 17-7.
