Fans at Wednesday's league test between the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) and the visiting Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC), witnessed Marvin Ridge's lacrosse squad top Porter Ridge by a count of 24-3.

The Mavericks (14-8) will now prepare for their test against Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league test with a 13-7 record. In their last test, Charlotte Catholic thwarted Charlotte Country Day School (Charlotte, NC), 16-6, in a non-league test.
