Virginia High School Softball - Hampton Menchville
May 8, 2025: Newport News, VA 23602 Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hampton Crabbers (Hampton, VA), 7-0 in a league game.
With the triumph, Menchville improves its record to 9-6 on the year. The Monarchs travel to Phoebus (Hampton, VA) to play the Phantoms in a Peninsula game on Tuesday, May 13. The Phantoms enter the game with a record of 4-12. Phoebus lost 19-0 in their recent league game against Gloucester (Gloucester, VA)
The Crabbers now hold a 3-10 record. They play next when they host Norcom for a non-league game on Saturday, May 10. Hampton will play a Greyhounds squad coming off a 22-9 league win over Norview (Norfolk, VA). The Greyhounds record now stands at 6-6.
