Iowa High School Softball - Sigourney edges Montezuma
June 13, 2025: Montezuma, IA 50171 In Friday's league match, the visiting Sigourney Savages softball team scored a tight 5-3 win over the Montezuma Braves.
The Savages (9-4) will now prepare for their match against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (Eddyville, IA). The Rockets come into the non-league match with a 6-7 record. In their last match, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont nipped Moravia (Moravia, IA), 12-3, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Braves battle the English Valleys Bears (North English, IA) in a South Iowa Cedar match, on Monday, June 16. Montezuma will attempt to better on its 3-5 season record. The Bears come into the match with a 2-8 record after their 16-1 non-league loss to Holy Trinity Catholic (Fort Madison, IA).
