Iowa High School Softball - Clear Lake held off by Algona
July 2, 2025: Clear Lake, IA 50428 The Algona Bulldogs got by the host Clear Lake Lions softball squad by a count of 8-7 in Wednesday's league challenge.
Next, the Bulldogs meet the Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS (Clarion, IA) in a North Central challenge, on Thursday, July 3. Algona will attempt to upgrade on its 16-5 season record. The go into the challenge with a 1-17 record after their 12-3 non-league loss to Garner-Hayfield/Ventura (Garner, IA).
The Lions (16-9) will now prepare for their challenge against North Union (Armstrong, IA). The Warriors go into the non-league challenge with a 20-5 record. In their last challenge, North Union held off Eagle Grove (Eagle Grove, IA), 5-2, in a league challenge.
