In Thursday's non-league match, the Sierra Chieftains (Tollhouse, CA) volleyball squad overcame the visiting Central East Bengals (Fresno, CA), by a margin of 3-0.

The Chieftains now possess a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Reedley for a non-league contest on Tuesday, August 19. Sierra will battle a Pirates team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Liberty (Madera, CA). The Pirates record now stands at 1-0.

Next, the Bengals battle the Kerman Lions (Kerman, CA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, August 19. Central East will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record.
