Texas High School Volleyball - Porter can't get by La Joya
August 16, 2025: La Joya, TX 78560 The La Joya Coyotes held off the visiting Porter Cowboys volleyball team by a margin of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Coyotes now possess a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Edinburg North for a non-league bout on Saturday, August 16. La Joya will clash with a Cougars team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Raymondville (Raymondville, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 2-2.
With the defeat, Porter falls to 2-3 on the year. The Cowboys travel to Lopez (Brownsville, TX) to battle the Lobos in a 5A Region IV District 32 match on Tuesday, August 19. The Lobos enter the match with a record of 0-1. Lopez lost 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial (Corpus Christi, TX)
