The La Joya Coyotes held off the visiting Porter Cowboys volleyball team by a margin of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Coyotes now possess a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Edinburg North for a non-league bout on Saturday, August 16. La Joya will clash with a Cougars team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Raymondville (Raymondville, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 2-2.
