The crowd at Saturday's non-league battle between the Pierce Bears (Arbuckle, CA) and the visiting University Prep Panthers (Redding, CA), saw Pierce's volleyball squad nudge University Prep by a score of 2-1.

With the win, Pierce improves its record to 3-3 on the season. The Bears travel to East Nicolaus (Nicolaus, CA) to encounter the Spartans in a non-league battle on Saturday, August 23. The Spartans go into the battle with a record of 1-0. East Nicolaus won 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Quincy (Quincy, CA)

Next, the Panthers meet the Marysville Indians (Marysville, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, August 23. University Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Indians enter the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to River Valley (Yuba City, CA).
