With the win, Anderson advances its record to 2-0 on the season. The Raptors host Little Miami (Morrow, OH) to encounter the Panthers in a Eastern Cincinnati bout on Friday, September 6. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 0-2. Little Miami lost 34-13 in their recent league outing against Turpin (Cincinnati, OH)
With the defeat, West Clermont drops to 1-1 on the campaign. The Wolves host Lebanon (Lebanon, OH) to clash with the Warriors in a Eastern Cincinnati outing on Friday, September 6. The Warriors come into the outing with a record of 2-0. Lebanon won 19-10 in their recent league outing against Loveland (Loveland, OH)
First Quarter
Anderson received the ball first to begin the game, and wasted little time as Justice Burnam connected with senior Trace Jallick for a 63-yard touchdown 46 seconds into the game. Lucas Callahan made the extra point, and the Raptors took a 7-0 lead over the Wolves. West Clermont was able to move the ball across midfield on their first drive, but senior quarterback Bo Rickman threw a costly interception to Antwoine Higgins. With 4:27 left in the first quarter, Durrell Turner ran five yards into the end zone to add to Anderson's lead, and Jayonn Saunders found Jallick in the back of the end zone on the two-point attempt to make it 15-0 Raptors. Anderson's defense held West Clermont once again, and the Wolves were forced to punt with 1:01 remaining in the quarter. The punt was taken in by Saunders at the Anderson 21-yard line, who returned it 79 yards for a touchdown thanks to a block from Ben Schultz. A Turner rush tacked on two more points to extend Anderson's lead to 23 at the end of 1.
Second Quarter
West Clermont began the quarter with the ball and put together two runs of 15 yards, both carried by junior Landon Young. With 7:45 to go until halftime, the Wolves scored their first touchdown of the game when quarterback Bo Rickman ran two yards on a sneak. Isaac Cooper made the PAT to cut Anderson's lead to 16 at 23-7. The Raptors struck back quickly, however, when less than a minute later Durrell Turner scored his second rushing touchdown of the half on a 78-yard scamper. Jayonn Saunders rushed for a successful two-point conversion. West Clermont punted on the following drive, and Anderson once again moved quickly downfield as the series culminated in a 7-yard touchdown pass from Burnam to Aiden McClanahan. Callahan added the extra point to put Anderson ahead 38-7. After another Wolf punt, Justice Burnam connected with Jallick once more on a 54-yard touchdown pass and Callahan added the PAT to put the Raptors up 45-7 heading to halftime.
Third Quarter
The second half began with a running clock as Anderson led by 38 points. The Wolves punted on their first posession of their half, and Burnam and the Raptors put together a nice drive to get inside the West Clermont red zone. Burnam's pass to the end zone, however, was intercepted and returned 14 yards by Alexander Hauck, and Anderson came away with no points. The quarter ended with the Raptors still leading 45-7.
Fourth Quarter
Owen Scalf entered the game for the Raptors in the fourth quarter at quarterback. With 8:21 remaining in the game, the sophomore connected with Cooper Kathman from 23 yards away for the seventh touchdown of the night. Callahan made his fourth extra point of the day to make the score Anderson 52, West Clermont 7. The score stood as the final whistles blew from West Clermont and the Raptors emerged from Week 2 with a big victory on the road.
