In Thursday's league game, the McDowell Trojans (Erie, PA) football team edged the visiting Erie Royals (Erie, PA), by a tally of 28-24.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the Meadville Bulldogs (Meadville, PA) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 20. McDowell will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Bulldogs enter the game with a 3-1 record after their 42-6 league win over Oil City (Oil City, PA).

The Royals (1-3) will now prepare for their game against Hickory (Hermitage, PA). The Hornets enter the non-league game with a 3-1 record. In their last game, Hickory was edged by Sharon (Sharon, PA), 20-14, in a league game.
