The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) and the visiting Ridgemont Golden Gophers (Mount Victory, OH), witnessed Elgin's football squad edge Ridgemont by a tally of 30-29.

The Comets (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Cory-Rawson (Rawson, OH). The Fighting Hornets enter the Northwest Central contest with a 0-4 record. In their last contest, Cory-Rawson was nudged by North Baltimore (North Baltimore, OH), 64-7, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Golden Gophers confront the Toledo Christian Eagles (Toledo, OH) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 19. Ridgemont will attempt to advance on its 3-1 season record.
