The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles got by the visiting Independence Eagles football squad by a margin of 31-28 in Friday's league test.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brentwood for a 6A Region 6 test on Friday, September 19. Shelbyville Central will meet a Bruins squad coming off a 30-0 non-league loss to Page (Franklin, TN). The Bruins record now stands at 2-2.

With the defeat, Independence drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Eagles host Coffee County Central (Manchester, TN) to meet the Red Raiders in a 6A Region 6 test on Friday, September 19. The Red Raiders come into the test with a record of 2-2. Coffee County Central won 7-6 in their recent league challenge against Franklin (Franklin, TN)
