The Southern Valley/Alma nipped the visiting Hershey Panthers softball squad by a final score of 10-9 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The (6-9) will now prepare for their battle against Ord (Ord, NE). The Chanticleers go into the C District battle with a 5-11 record. In their last battle, Ord held off O'Neill (O'Neill, NE), 11-4, in a non-league battle.

The Panthers now possess a 6-15 record. They play next when they travel to Chase County for a C District 10 battle on Monday, September 18. Hershey will meet a Longhorns team coming off a 16-0 league loss to Chadron (Chadron, NE). The Longhorns record now stands at 0-15.
