September 14, 2023: Newport, AR 72112 The Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) volleyball overcame the visiting Piggott Mohawks (Piggott, AR), 3-1 in Thursday's league outing.
With the win, Newport upgrades its record to 3-7 on the year. The Greyhounds travel to Walnut Ridge (Walnut Ridge, AR) to face the Bobcats in a 3A Northeast outing on Monday, September 18. The Bobcats go into the outing with a record of 6-3.
The Mohawks now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Crowley's Ridge Academy for a 3A Northeast outing on Monday, September 18. Piggott will face a Falcons squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Bald Knob (Bald Knob, AR). The Falcons record now stands at 10-2.
