The Mitchell Kernels topped the visiting Yankton Bucks/Gazelles volleyball squad by a final score of 3-1 in Thursday's league game.

Next up, the Kernels face the Brookings Bobcats (Brookings, SD) in a AA District 1 game, on Tuesday, September 23. Mitchell will attempt to advance on its 5-3 season record. The Bobcats go into the game with a 6-11 record after their 3-0 league loss to O'Gorman (Sioux Falls, SD).

The Bucks/Gazelles (3-7) will now prepare for their game against Vermillion (Vermillion, SD). The Tanagers come into the non-league outing with a 4-8 record. In their last outing, Vermillion lost by Avon (Avon, SD), 2-0, in a non-league outing.
