Cozad Haymakers (Cozad, NE) backers left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Alliance Bulldogs (Alliance, NE), 8-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Cozad upgrades its record to 10-9 on the year. The Haymakers host Chase County (Imperial, NE) to confront the Longhorns in a C District match on Tuesday, September 23. The Longhorns come into the match with a record of 1-12. Chase County lost 13-0 in their recent league match against Chadron (Chadron, NE)

In their next game, the Bulldogs confront the Scottsbluff Bearcats (Scottsbluff, NE) in a B District 10 game, on Tuesday, September 23. Alliance will attempt to upgrade on its 7-14 season record. The Bearcats enter the game with a 9-10 record after their 5-4 non-league loss to York (York, NE).
