Oregon High School Volleyball - Stayton tips Newport
September 28, 2023: Newport, OR 97365 Stayton Eagles (Stayton, OR) supporters left the game in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the host Newport Cubs (Newport, OR), 3-2 in a league match.
Next up, the Eagles battle the Burns Hilanders (Burns, OR) in a non-league game, on Saturday, September 30. Stayton will attempt to move on its 6-6 season record. The Hilanders enter the game with a 20-4 record after their 3-0 league win over Nyssa (Nyssa, OR).
The Cubs (5-8) will now prepare for their game against Scappoose (Scappoose, OR). The Indians enter the non-league game with a 7-4 record. In their last game, Scappoose was nudged by Tillamook (Tillamook, OR), 3-0, in a league game.
