North Carolina High School Volleyball - Cape Hatteras overwhelmed by First Flight

September 4, 2025: Buxton, NC 27920

First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Cape Hatteras Hurricanes (Buxton, NC), 3-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, First Flight improves its record to 1-7 on the season. The Nighthawks host Martin County (Williamston, NC) to face the Gators in a Northeastern Coastal 3A/4A/5A test on Thursday, September 11. The Gators go into the test with a record of 6-2. Martin County lost 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Gates County (Gatesville, NC)

The Hurricanes now own a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech for a non-league game on Friday, September 5. Cape Hatteras will face a Griffins squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Northside - Pinetown (Pinetown, NC). The Griffins record now stands at 4-6.
