The Comstock Panthers basketball squad (Comstock, TX), was nudged 51-50 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Utopia Buffaloes (Utopia, TX)

With the victory, Utopia advances its record to 24-4 on the year. The Buffaloes host Medina (Medina, TX) to meet the Bobcats in a 1A Region IV District 31 battle on Tuesday, February 4. The Bobcats enter the battle with a record of 7-15. Medina lost 68-33 in their recent league battle against D'Hanis (D'Hanis, TX)

The Panthers now own a 14-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Knippa for a 1A Region IV District 31 battle on Tuesday, February 4. Comstock will meet a Crushers squad coming off a 70-25 league win over Leakey (Leakey, TX). The Crushers record now stands at 15-14.
