North Carolina High School Basketball - Crest holds off South Point

January 17, 2025: Shelby, NC 28152

The Crest Chargers basketball team scored 69 points and limited the visiting South Point Red Raiders to 63 in the Chargers league triumph on Friday.

The Chargers now have a 12-1 record. They play next when they host Kings Mountain for a 3A Big South game on Tuesday, January 21. Crest will confront a Mountaineers team coming off a 65-61 league win over Forestview (Gastonia, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, South Point falls to 9-7 on the campaign. The Red raiders travel to North Gaston (Dallas, NC) to confront the Wildcats in a 3A Big South game on Tuesday, January 21. The Wildcats go into the game with a record of 6-10. North Gaston lost 75-40 in their recent league game against Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC)
